Ubon House by Supermachine Studio

Ubon House is located in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand and it has been designed by Bangkok-based Supermachine Studio. The owners of this vila are a young couple that wanted to build their house just outside of the city, near to the Moon River, 600 kilometres east of Bangkok.
As we all know, life and work are never so far apart, this is the reason why the husband wanted its office to be part of the house. It was placed at the second floor. An original solution for the stress caused by work was to place his working room hovering over the swimming pool. This will give his the possibility to dive into the pool whenever he needs.
The room with big glass window that offers incredible views of the green swamp was designed for activities like playing game, having coffee, checking emails or jumping into the water. Here they can spend the morning or they can relax after work.
The house was designed in order to take benefits of the nature also, for example the South-North wind will be natural ventilation system when the sliding gates and glass doors on the ground floor are fully opened. The architectural language combines traditional Thai with modernism.
