Whidbey Island Cabin – a True Celebration Of Life within Nature

Whidbey Island Cabin is designed by Chesmore/Buck Architecture and it is located on a long and narrow lot on the western shores of Whidbey Island, Washington.

The landscape is gorgeous, the residence being heavily wooded, allowing you to admire the water and the Olympic Mountains, too. The house is simple, divided into a living space and the guest side. It is perfectly integrated within nature, looking as if it would have naturally grown from the earth like trees. That’s why the main building material is wood. Wood offers warmth and a cozy feeling of protection, while the glass walls provide natural light, allowing the whole house to be in a perfect communion with nature surrounding. With the open plan and the expanse of windows there is almost no border between inside and out. Wood was also the desired material for the interior of the home.

Oak floors, solid wooden doors, wooden ceilings and furniture emphasize the warmth of this beautiful home. Associated with the simple and elegant furniture, the well equipped and greeting kitchen, which is the soul of the house, this building is a beautiful and true celebration of wood and life within nature.
