Mosman Park House – A Protective and Modern Home Shelter in Australia
Mosman Park House designed by Paul Burnham Architect Pty Ltd sits on an elevated corner site overlooking the Swan River at Point Roe, Mosman Park, Australia.
The residence has two sides: the main form is a steel frame structure which is fully glazed to the side street. This fact allows natural light penetration and enhances privacy and intimacy of the space. The second volume is set back from the front street, creating a private elevated front garden and establishing effective privacy from both streets. This second volume offers a splendid view over the river. The house is an upside down design with all children’s rooms located on the ground floor and the main living areas and parents rooms on the first floor to take advantage of the panoramic views of the busy Swan River. The inner spaces are large, painted in pale colors, increasing luminosity and the large floor to ceiling glasses walls offer a great panorama, enhancing space fluidity. The kitchen is modern, well organized and equipped.
The living space is large and elegant, and the bedrooms are embodied in wood, in order to increase intimacy and privacy, allowing you to admire the splendid views, in the same time. Wooden rooms shelter a small library with book shelves. It is interesting how such a great and spacious house looks intimate and cozy, even protective!
