Striking Design for an Eco-Friendly Home: The Edgeland Residence
The Edgeland Residence is designed by Bercy Chen Studio and it is located on the shores of the Colorado River. The residence is divided into two separate pavilions and the design is extremely interesting.
The roofs of both pavilions are covered and sheltered by green grass, in a generous attempt to heal the land of its former industrial character. The designers indented to create a balance between the surrounding industrial zone and the natural river residing on opposite side of the site. One of the volumes accommodates the sleeping areas, while the other shelters the social zones. Floor to ceiling windows ensure plenty of natural light and a fluid space of communication between nature and the inner spaces. The angular shapes given by the roofs are sweetened by the chairs roundness, the soft materials of the sofas and the cozy simple furniture, especially created and adapted to create a warm atmosphere of intimacy. The grass covering the roofs assures warmth in winter and keeps chilly inside in summer.
The large terrace prefacing the swimming pool allows you to enjoy the view and to gain your inner balance in front of so much beauty and perfection. Interesting and original in shape and conception, the Edgeland Residence is the perfect shelter for relaxation and dreaming.
