Mesmerising and Sustainable Point Loma House
This gorgeous residence, which is also one of my favourite houses that i’ve seen in the last time, has been designed by Macy Architecture/Jensen & Macy Architects and is located in a peaceful area in San Diego, California.
The house was conceived based on the owners’ wishes and ideas, and one of the most important aspect was to be sustainable as much as possible. That’s why the architects tried to use everything, to create a truly sustainable house based on passive solar and natural ventilation design principles. To give an example about the sustainable characteristics of this house, in summer the horizontal sunshades shield glass starts to heat gain, but at the same time the interior is naturally ventilated thanks to the central atrium and clerestory windows. The structure of the house is quite compact, despite the fact that from inside the space seems to be very spacious and airy.
Now the space is separated on two levels: the living, dining, kitchen and master bedroom being located on the upper level and oriented so that it can offer some incredible views of the Pacific Ocean, Mission Bay and La Jolla. I really like this house, the location the exterior design, but what do you think?
