Contemporary Residence with Scandinavian Influences
This modern house has been designed by Kathryn Tyler of Linea Studio and is located in a peaceful area in Cornwall, England.
One important aspect of the design was to create a great transition between the indoor and the outdoor space, to make the owners feel like they’re one step away from the marvelous nature. The exterior is very green and modern, the house being surrounded by threes and various plants. Stepping in the interior, we can observe a contemporary design with ingenious furniture items and some surprising decorating elements. The walls are most of them covered in grey, or a similar nuance but the stark aspect is broken by the use of furniture made from wood, offering a warm and cozy aspect.
The concept is inspired from a Scandinavian Eco-house, due to its ability to fit in a very small plot but also to its architecture and some aspects of the interior design, such as the vintage Danish furniture. It can be resembled with a “cubist shell” as the architect affirmed, but with some cleverly designed areas and thoroughly details and color combinations. I personally think that there are some areas with just to many things in it, as the shelves for example.
