The Log House: A Chalet of Music and Feelings
The Log House is located in The Netherlands, Hilversum, and it was designed by Piet Hein Eek. The construction strikes through its originality in exterior design, appearing to be blacked out by a pile of logs, waiting to be transported and restyled, transformed into modern furniture.
The house was built in order to house a music-study environment and it is the perfect retreat for a singer who is looking for silence and inspiration, a quiet retreat were he could practice his peaceful music and where he is not disturbed by the hustle of the urban life. The interior is simple; the house doesn’t strike you through its elegance. But that doesn’t mean there is no comfort inside. There are a lot of musical instruments in the living space, a guitar, the piano with spots, everything creating an intimate atmosphere and allowing you to imagine the way of life the owner agrees.
The large windows crossing the walls allow the forest to penetrate deep into the interior atmosphere of the chalet, creating the visual effect which stimulates the musicians’ feelings and mood for creation. This is an interesting building, beautiful through its simplicity and it releases your inner passion for nature and music.
