A Living Creature into the Dark Forest – Red Hill Residence
The Red Hill Residence is situated on the Victorian Mornington Peninsula, south-east of Melbourne, Australia. It was designed by South Yarra – based studio David Luck Architecture and it is dark, modern and compact.
It is a house for weekends, situated into a wild forest. It looks like a huge black tent, a shelter for strange and mysterious nights spent into the forest. A glass skin defines the residence and a steel bridge leads you to the main living space where windows were designed to define the cardinal points. The house in completely dark, but the minimal and comfortable furniture, in white, or red offers lightness and opens the big eyes of this strange dark forest creature. The house seems to be alive with the lights turned on. It breathes through its textures like a living creature in the dark.
There are walls from glass, opening the communication between inside and outside spaces. The bedrooms reveal spots of light and life, perfectly integrated into the green forest. You find yourself into a huge tent, in the middle of wildness. You need to be protected, to flock together inside this creature and to be protected from the night outside. Floating above the ground, the Red Hill Residence will continue to amaze you with each detail and each result of a carefully planned custom interior design, being the perfect place for your vacation!
