Iporanga House by Nitsche Arquitetos Associados

This beautiful house is located in a preserved and protected area of the original Atlantic Rainforest, in Iporonga, 120 km east from the capital, in Guaruja, SP,Brazil. The client couldn’t ask for a large surface due to the native forest, so he got 400m2 to build. It was enough to ensure comfort for the 5 suites demanded: one for the couple, one for each of his 3 sons and one for the guests. Because the land was not to permissive the build was developed a lot on vertical, on 3 levels. On the ground level is a small area for services like house keeper couple, a laundry and a deposit. The next level was meant for the social activities so here are found the living, dining room, kitchen and swimming pool. This was build as an open space, with transparent temperate glass sliding panels so they could admire the nature and get a tight connection with it. Above can be found the private area: the 5 suites. Intimacy was ensured with opaque boards made of wood, covered on both faces with cement stab, these were used on the street façade. On the forest side were used aluminum sliding doors that connect all the rooms with a common veranda. This is last level and it is actually suspended. The foundation is in humid solid so the construction had to be durable, solid: concrete columns support the steel beans which support the woof frame.
