Impressive Temple to Perspective

Architects Tom Greenall and Jordan Hodgson designed the Temple to Perspective, an impressive temple. The project idea was given by the writer Alain de Botton, he wanted to build a series of temples for atheists with an original an imposing architecture. The creation presented in the following pictures was designed for the City of London. If you want to surprise in a positive way the citizens of a big city like London you have to bring something original. In this case the meaning of the structure is very interesting and its aspect its admirable.

The hollow stone tower measures 46 metre height and it symbolizes the history of life on earth. Imagine that a centimetre of this huge building equates to one million years of life. At one metre from the ground there is represented the entire existence of humankind through a gold line, a milimetre-thick band of gold. It is the representation of the whole world in a very distinct way, this is the reason why people share different opinions. Ones consider it “beautiful” or “perplexing” but others see it like a “waste of time”. Images of this temple are included in “Religion for Atheist”, the new book of Botton.
