Cliff House by Scott Allen Architecture
Cliff House is an amazing residence designed by Scott Allen Architecture and it is located in Gig Harbor from Washington. Its gorgeous architecture is completed by the beautiful natural landscape. Located against the wall of a natural cliff, next to the water’s edge this amazing project satisfies the site’s challenges and the owner’s demands.
The architect’s solution for the roof was to extend the upland lawn with a glass-enclosed elevator. This is the element that connects the two levels into a pleasant aspect. The outside is spectacular, between the house and the boathouse is a living space perfect for entertaining. Stairs, decks and terraces connect the water with the house creating a fairytale living place. Spending your vacation in a place like this can be quite relaxing, enjoying sunrise on a deck, after this maybe a sunbath, an afternoon with family or friends on the terrace.
The house has big windows so the landscape could be admired from the inside also. On the first level the decorations the ceiling and walls create the feel of a boat cabin. The exterior is also inspired by marine structures: sustainable techniques and materials like copper, concrete, cedar, strong enough for bad weather conditions.
