Lake Travis Residence: Charming Design using Natural Materials
Lake Travis Residence has been designed by Hsu Office of Architecture and is a delightful modern home build on a slopping site off Lake Travis and located near Austin, Texas.
The house is a two story custom and features a bisecting plan in order to offer a flexible open space and respond to the grade of the site. The interior design is very open and airy, the large butterfly roof and big expansive windows offers some great views and embrace the surrounding landscape. The architects have used a lot of natural materials to create a better connection with the landscape, a few of these materials are the wood siding, stacked ledge stone and stucco. I really like how the designers have created such a cozy and charming atmosphere for the interior design, by bringing several materials used for the exterior finishes but also using a great combination of colors, very warm and inviting.
The connection between the lower and the upper level is made via a modern staircase, and it’s also used to separate a generous room on the bottom floor from the dining and living area. The bedrooms are located on the upper level and features floor to ceiling windows, offering some great views of the landscape.
