New Taipei City Museum of Art Proposal by Design Initiatives
This bold project regarding a new City Museum of Art has been designed by Design Initiatives and have participated at a competition where the basic idea was to define the essence of art in a great architecture.
This new museum will be located in New Taipei City, Taiwan and is quite something, since it’s a futuristic project with some bold and curved shapes, to represent art in its greatest shape. This new manipulated movement tries to create a flexible space that can offer some new urban opportunities, and to include different attraction: an art museum, park, footbridge and services of course. It’s all about knowledge and discovery, so there was created a path of gradation with a 3D spatial loop, very useful in the coordination of visitors.
Since the project was located in the middle of the park, the architects thought about creating a connection between these two and to create a flow, allowing the unrestricted pedestrian move. The building will have glass pavilions that will provide some great views of the park and the Da-han river. The circulation spine is actually the footbridge from Ying-ge train station which connects to the second level of the museum.
