TuboHotel by T3arc
The TuboHotel was designed by T3arc and is located in Tepoztlan, Mexico and the idea was to create some inexpensive rooms for users using recycled concrete pipes, each of these pipes representing a hotel room.
The TuboHotel is located in a great wooded setting of unusual features, where the surrounding environment provides some beautiful panoramic views of the Sierra del Tepozteco. The architects mission was to create a fast, simple and affordable hotel that can offer a comfy place where the Tepoztlan tourist can rest. They thought about placing the tubes in three modules also placed in a pyramid-like formation in order to harness the ground as much as possible, and the access to the upper levels is made via some small staircases.
These small hotel rooms looks quite cozy and offers a comfy queen sized bed, a window, door and there are two exterior bathhouses for showering and toilet facilities. All of these features are included into a 2.44m (8ft) wide and 3.50m (11.5ft) tube unit. All of these tube units are placed in a random order regarding the entire site, and the construction took place over a period of 3 months. So if you want to visit Tepoztlan don’t forget to experience one of the world’s most unique hotel, the TurboHotel.
