MacMaster Design
MacMaster Design was launched in 2009 by Alex MacMaster. This design studio based in London, England is specialized in contemporary lighting and furniture pieces for residential areas. Alex runs it with his business partner Limahl Asmall whom was awarded the title ‘young furniture designer of the year 2009′, they both share a passion for exemplary design and aesthetic refinement.
It is established in the industrial design and it shows how to manipulate wood to create unique pieces. The style is influenced by contemporary European design but the methods of construction are based on traditional British craftsmanship. During the Architectural Digest Home Show they showcased two new pieces: the Nest Coffee Table and the Irish Pendant Table.
The Nest Coffee Table is designed by Limahl Asmall and it has a chaotic and a sophisticated look but in the mean time it is simple. It consists of solid wood “sticks” that support a glass surface and this can be considered a remarkable method for a furniture design.
The Irish Pendant Lamp is an extension of the Irish Floor Lamp, it has been launched at the 100% Design 2010. This lamp consists of leaves that are elegantly curved at three sets of angles and distanced to produce a perfectly proportioned pendant feature. As a bonus for its beautiful form it creates a nice ambient light.
