Villa V in T by Beel & Achtergael Architects

Villa V in T has been designed by Beel & Achtergael Architects and it is located in Flanders, Belgium. The client wanted a house where he, his family and friends could relax and where he could place his extensive art collection.

Being placed on a mixed vernacular residential / light industrial street, on the front of the house there is considerable traffic. Although this could be a real problem the clients accepted it because they are close of their companies offices.

Outside there is an open air courtyard, around it were arranged in a U-shape the quarters at the ground floor. Inside this shape there is a continuous glass wall, because it opens the circulation it created into its center the social core of the house. This is the area for guest, spacious and lighted, with the art collection exposed.

The outside facades are made by white plasterwork in order to provide intimacy, the windows are few just for the need, they catch north light. The first floor has discrete volumes, an office and a media room, here are made the business and still here is the place for recreation. The house is designed for easy living, surrounded by fields but also by traffic on the other side.
