The House 04 in Croatia Creates a Relationship between Man and Nature

The House 04 project is designed by Helena Alfirevic Arbutina and it is located in the sunny region of Osijek, Croatia. The house looks like a giant snail shell, white and neat, trying to establish a relationship between man and nature, domesticating nature and adapting it to a family lifestyle.

The exterior aspect of the house reflects the constant interior need of man to find an inner peace. Two walnut trees are guarding the entrance and the very fluid and organic shaped house comes with all sorts of ingenious details. The house is divided in three wings. One of the wings shelters the garage and the bedrooms, the other being destined to children. The central wing shelters the living space and the kitchen and it is ideal for receiving guests. The living space is wide and cozy, with an interesting architecture. The interior is full of transparency, allowing you to enjoy a complete view over the courtyard. The central suspended fireplace offers coziness and the piano provides peace of mind and relaxation.

There are “earthy” details sprinkled around the house, such as the pebble-like carpet, a pebbles “passage”, as soon as you step inside the house and a small interior garden with white stones and small bushes behind a wall of glass. The house is inspirational both in exterior and in interior, making you feel like home.
