B/S/H/ Office Space Defined by Four-Story Atrium and Central Green Wall – A Nice Place to Work In
This building represents the new office building for Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte (B/S/H/) in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands. Envisioned by William McDonough+Partners, together with D/DOCK, the office space is an impressive four-story atrium.
An indoor-outdoor living green wall defines the new office space, creating the image of an opened and flexible space. The place radiates a sense of calm, silence and peace. Being a huge opened space, it meets everyone’s taste, accomplishing every dream. Structured of four levels, the space is composed of zones, alternative workplaces and a flexible use of furniture, each floor featuring a central point. Optimal lighting, soft and tactile materials, soft colors and multiple design elements match people’s desires, emphasize the open structure and the vision of B/S/H/ as a company. The central point is the place where all the community functions are gathered, even the offices and the management. Modern furniture, in sweet and attractive colors, interesting and modern design details, illuminating systems, places to sit and have a warm coffee or tea, are some of the attractions of the place.
Many of the interior elements are stimulating reuse, ensuring a second-life for them. The light is powerful because of the integrated photo-voltaic roof which maximizes the energy, transforming this space into a nice place to work in.
