The Haus Am Weinberg – The House of the Twist

The Haus Am Weinberg is a dream home located in Stuttgart, Germany and it was finished in 2011. Its location provides expansive views of the stepped terraces of a historic hillside vineyard and the cityscape. Having a very modern design, the house has a splendid view over the vineyard and it appears volumetric.

The interior of the house is originally designed by combining rustic elements with modern ones. The house probably belongs to a hunting lover because it is decorated with hunting trophies, emphatically displayed on the walls, contrasting the elegance of the furniture. The focal point of design that supports the primary staircase is the twist which guides and coordinates the flow of space within the interiors of the home. The main direction of orientation of flow is through a diagonal movement which looks like a twist, following the direction of the sun. Beside the hunting trophies the house shelters a pair of spoiled dogs, providing a vivid atmosphere to the house.

Wide spaces, natural light coming through large windows, connecting inside space with outside, the great kitchen, the dining area, cozy and elegant, offering a fine view over the vineyard hill, the inspirational bedroom and the elegant living space, the use of natural oak flooring, white walls and natural stone enhanced the overall atmosphere.
