Chateau D’eau – The Apartment which Kept a Water Tower Inside

This modern dream home jokingly called by its designer Patrick Mets as Chateau d’eau is a building standing nearly 100 feet tall and originally a water tower. A lot of elements from the original structure were preserved, such as the down-pipe found in the bathroom design.

The essence of the water tower is preserved and that provides originality to the residence. The bedroom is minimalist; a large matrimonial bed stands on the floor, simplicity of the room giving a nice feeling of elegance and peace. There is a staircase in the master bedroom leading to the living area. There is also a mirrored wardrobe, enhancing space and luminosity of the room. The living space is opened, with mahogany wooden floor and elegant furniture, combined with the trunk of a stylized tree and a blackboard surrounding the stairs, which can be written with chalk.

This aspect offers originality and ingenuity to the living space, softening the minimalist features. The third level houses the bedrooms for children. The apartment is the definition of minimalist but stylish design, defining a strong personality of its owner and astonishing you through the water tower structure.
