The Ridge Road Residence – a Mixture between Simplicity and Modernity
The Ridge Road Residence, designed by Studio Four, is located specifically within the Moonah Links Golf Course, in Mornington Peninsula.
The building looks interesting and provocative, in a combination between classic and modernity, situated in a splendid view, surrounded by green trees and luxurious vegetation, which offers a nice shelter for its inhabitants. It is a ‘’box type’’ design, a practical aspect, allowing the house to have all the spaces inside very well separated and defined, in the same time, enjoying an interesting fluidity of spaces. The design brief is short and simple, enhancing its splendid effect through a challenging landscape. The practical aspect of the house could be a real help for the domestic life inside its walls, functionality mixing with modern design. Both interior spaces have a form of communication hence the floor to ceiling glass walls. This also allows nature to reflect itself like in a mirror and to come inside the house as a member of the family.
The interior is simple, a mixture between modern and classic, with no complex decorations or details. The kitchen is cozy and it looks familiar, the living space enjoys a beautiful warm fireplace and the bedroom is white predominant, especially created for rest and silence. However, despite this kind of design, high level of privacy is still maintained throughout the entire house from the golf course directly below it.
