The Bay House – The Ideal Dreaming Home
The Bay House was designed by Leroy Street Studio. It is a 5,570 square foot contemporary home situated in a flood plain in Long Island, New York, USA.
The house is placed in a challenging site, on a barrier island, but the site was completely restored and transformed to shelter a gorgeous home. The entire structure of the house consists in a combination of geometrical elements and the building is compact and looks like a huge ship floating on waters. A concrete mass is set against the edge of the street. It is carved, in order to create an entry for the house and it splits the house into two parts, creating a view to the bay beyond.
The front house is overwhelmed by the splendid lawn full of white flowers. You may guess the surprise from the other side of the house, where you can admire the bay. The porch is made up from wood and it is warm and rustic, offering peace and quiet. The interior of the house is elegant and astonishing. There are walls replaced by large floor to ceiling windows, which allow you to admire the splendid view. The rooms are well balanced, painted in light colors. There are white walls and the furniture has the warm colors of brown. It is modern and cozy. A large hall allows you to pass from one room to another. The place is practical; it is actually a combination between exotic and practical. There is a perfect equilibrium between the interior and the exterior of the house.
The residence is well adjusted to the landscape, both functionally and aesthetically.
