Berkeley-based studio WA Design developed an amazing house in Saratoga, California, USA. Saratoga Creek House has a great contemporary design that will impress you for sure. The house is surrounded by a natural landscape including old oaks, canopies and a seasonal creek. In this green area is integrated the house that is actually a series of small structures all connected by glass pathways and vaulted roofs.
The house belongs to a technology company executive and his wife, they can enjoy the design diversity of their place that can offer them comfort and pleasure into a modern but natural atmosphere. In the center of the house there is a freestanding staircase with glass treads, it has an important role for the house circulation but also for its aspect.
The original visual effect is created by the variety of materials that were used. For the interior were used natural stone, concrete, plaster, bronze and dark hardwoods in different colors. For the sections with vaulted ceilings was used sheet bronze that has a double effect, during the day it reflects the adjacent gardens and during the night it brings a glam touch.
