Spliced Towers by AQSO Arquitectos
The Spliced Towers project designed by by AQSO Arquitectos will be the landmark for Guangyuan, China. This imposing milestone will serve as a residential complex. The surrounding, a hilly scene is perfect for the architects desire of integrating lots of green zones, minimizing the building footprint. The block of apartments are combined with the towers realizing an urban image, the blocks are oriented on North-South axe and the towers are oriented on the mountains.
As the project includes parking spaces in the basement the space had to be carefully divided for these and for some small building. Fixing the block width to 12.5m, the ventilation and ilumination of all the units were optimized. Even if the towers measure enough on vertical none of the floors suffer of dark zones or poor ventilation.
The sunlight exposure can be controlled with the vertical louvres that cover the space between the slabs in a random arrangement. The exterior aspect of the buldings combines domestic with sober . The circulation between the blocks is flexible and organic given by the interconnection of the courtyards, the focal points are connected by diagonal roads.
On an area of 11,000sqm was created an interesting residential complex with natural landscape.
