Elegant Gothic Quarter Apartment by YLAB Architects
This delightful apartment has been designed by YLAB Architects and is an actual renovation of a 130m2 apartment with a terrace, and is located right in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, in a catalogued building located behind the City Hall.
The idea of this amazing project was conceived as a reinterpretation of the existing spatial structure of different rooms offering different uses and atmospheres, and redefining new spatial and visual connections but also using traditional elements and keeping several original features such as traditional Catalan ceilings with wooden beams and vaulted arches. An important aspect that the architects have tried to incorporate in this charming Gothic apartment was a peaceful environment, a place where the owners can relax after a long exhausting day offering the privacy that every house needs. This aspect was solved by creating two areas, a social and a private one, the first including the entrance hall, kitchen and living room, while the private one consisting of the bedroom suite.
The apartment is very spacious and provides a clean space, featuring a beautiful interior design with a warm and elegant touch highlited by Gothic and traditional elements. The color and materials used all over the apartment are very simple and elegant, the walls and also the wooden carpentry are all in a beautiful shade of ivory white that lights the entire room.
