Typical Warehouse with an Extra Glass Box on Top
The next building has been designed by I Love Architecture firm and its structure is composed of an usual warehouse normally used as a storage area, and an extra glass box on top, where all the offices are located.
Now, the entire building was build based on a few restrictions imposed by the site. One of these restriction was that the buildable area on the lot is limited by underground pipes, and a solution to this problem came with the idea of building the offices on top of the warehouse. Really clever, must say! This idea offers a simple and beautiful architecture, the warehouse being similar with a simple concrete box, and in order to maximize the space, a glass box was also build on top of the warehouse. This architectural approach tries on one hand to maximize the storage capacity and on the other hand to enhance the quality and views of the office space.
The office provides some great views of the Amstel River and the pastures beyond, and the interior is very spacious and uses a modern and contemporary interior design, based on the idea of a white and airy space, with some great large windows that provides enough light to invade the interior space.
