L71 House by OFFICE AT
L71 is a house for a single family designed by OFFICE AT. It is located on a long, narrow shape site, on the northeastern side of Bangkok, in Thailand. Because this family has lots of parties they had to separated the public areas from the private one. So in the front of the house are the public areas as the living room and parking and in the back, on the North side are the private ones: 4 bedrooms, dining room and family room. In order to ensure privacy for the pool it was located in the back and the living room mass was extended, as well as the second floor that creates shading for the pool and terrace.
Because it is made by split masses it is easier to realize the inside-outside connection with the semi outdoor space that interlock indoor and outdoor space. Splitting was a good idea for maximize ventilation, natural light and separating areas. The roof was made double in order to protect against weather, the first one is made by concrete slab and the upper one by metal, the space between them is meant to act like a buffer. The main materials used for constructing this house are plastered brick wall and tint glass.
