Beach House by Bourne Blue Architecture

This beach house from Diamond Beach, on the mid coast of NSW, Australia is designed by Bourne Blue Architecture in year 2010. Due to the house position the owners won’t be able to the enjoy the views of the ocean but they will enjoy for sure a beachside lifestyle. On a 169 sqm they had to create a holiday house for a large family and friends. The project includes four components separated by a roofed deck placed around a central court. On the North side is the living space, after this comes two adult bedrooms and a kids area. At the opposite corner there are more two identical bedrooms, a kids area and a TV area. The modern design involves spacious rooms with large windows and a few green places. Intimacy is provided by the exterior facades that have less windows.

Because it is a holiday house it needs to be secure when the owners are away, this is why at the edge of the building the sliding screens of perforated mini orb close off the roofed decks. Two sets of screens protect against undesirable sun and weather. Because of the land properties the architected used materials as brick and tile.
