The urban population grows more and more and people forget about how the fruits or vegetables are cultivated or they are not interested anymore, they just enjoy the fact that can have them in every month of the year. This is why Charlotte Dieckmann and Nils Fieber thought about the parasite farm.
If you have a balcony or garden this is great, but it is quite expensive so the majority can’t afford this. The solution comes from this system that enables you to compost your biological waste, produce humus soil and to grow your own vegetables and herbs. It can be integrated in your apartment using the existing furniture as infrastructure. The system uses a nutrient cycle, the parasitic objects are fed by the food scraps and provide vegetables. An important element is a larger compost container that can be hanged by the kitchen table, it can also have a chopping board. The vermicompost container saves the food scraps so they can be used to feed the plants. The plants need nutrient rich humus soil to have a healthy growth. The parasite farm can bring nature into your house, can help you eat healthier and cheaper.
