Rustic and Modern Leicester House by SPG Architects

This great residence has been designed by SPG Architects and is located on a hilltop at the edge of a wooded knoll in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The goal was to create a beautiful house based on two major elements, functionality and energy efficiency. Both of these two were achieved through the use of specific materials, fixtures and fittings. The entry level includes the primary living area, with a guest wing carved into the hilltop on a level below, and offers some incredible views over the farmland below and the mountains beyond.

The façade of this house is made from corten steel in a wood frame, and features some great glass walls facing West and South, and also a glass door, to provide some beautiful views over the hills. The interior design looks very warm and cozy, due to the use of a great color palette and also the color of for the furniture. The green area complements the warm wood exterior of the house, and incorporates this modern house into the rural landscape. Looks like the perfect place where you can relax and enjoy some amazing views, in the heart of nature, being surrounded by all this “green” of grass and flowers.
