Yandex Headquarter by Atrium
This new Yandex headquarter has been designed by Atrium and is located in L’va Tolstovo st, Moscow, Russia. Yandex is one of the most important and also one of the biggest Russian internet companies.
The entire building has seven floors, where the last floor is designed for top management and important meetings. The canteen is situated on the lower level, and the other five floors are used for back-offices and have typical plans but with some difference in proportion of open spaces and cabinets with double-glassed walls. The working-desks are arranged in groups at the window, to create a better and productive environment for working in teams, while the conference-rooms, toilets and chill-outs are placed on the lengthwise axis in depth of the building.
Since it’s a high-tech company, they are trying to use eco-friendly solutions as much as possible. So, they use a vertical greenery system with automatic watering to improve the importance of eco ideas for the company, and a system of cold ceiling instead of conditioning. The idea was to create something different, not the usual building with offices, which sometimes look quite sad. They thought about creating a cozy and hospitable environment, where employers can enjoy their work, and feel like home. They’ve used carpeting and curtains, and designed the ornament for curtains in the glassed conference-rooms. The homey feeling is amplified by some cute stand lamps placed in the corridors.
