Sochi to host the greenest Olympics ever

International Olympic Committee approved that the 2014 XI Paralympic Winter Games will be hosted at Sochi. The organizers will try to make the event as green as possible. Based on the Gateway of the Future concept, the project will preserve the nature of Sochi: the Sochi National Park and the borders of Caucasian Biosphere Reserve.
In this way they will get closer to the character of Russia and to the Olympics Diamond concept. The Winter Games in Sochi will have a fantastic natural environment due to its originality. Keeping the natural environment doesn’t mean that the participants will freeze. The project includes: sustainable electricity generation and of course heat supplies; sewage, water supplies, water draining; recoverable raw materials; the improvement of the environment including monitoring it; natural phenomena forecasting; and a very important aspect, the extension of the territory of the specially protected natural areas, in this way SNPA will get bigger in Sochi region.
In the transport system will be some changes also, in order to avoid traffic jam formation a new transport system will be introduced: the environmentally friendly vehicles and the natural gas will replace the common ones. The infrastructure will be liquefied and the component parts reused after the games are over.
