Agung Sedayu Center by KuiperCompagnons

The office building Agung Sedayu Center is designed by Rotterdam based KuiperCompagnons and it will be located in Jakarta. The project is inspired by Indonesian tradition culture, it will be a sustainable and contemporary building. Its form will be inspired from the Chins’s sign “yin and yang”: besides a central core with elevator and staircases two buildings will twist and rotate outwards step-by-step. The buildings have also common floors from the ground to the 4th level, these include 6 parking floors which 3 of it are underground, and an integrated garden.

The concept is dictated by nature: due to the form and details of the building the sun is avoided from the facade; natural ventilation has a large use, reducing mechanical cooling; using a simple system the rainwater is collected and reused; on the horizontal roof are installed solar panels; the building will benefit of a geothermal heat pump. On the roof will be arranged a terrace, the proper location for relaxation admiring impressive views.

The shape of the building can have two interpretations: the place were everything comes together and the Indonesian handicrafts. Agung Sedayu Center will be located under the flight path of Soekarno Hatta International Airport Jakarta and it could be a landmark of the city.
