Dubai’s Nakheel Harbour Tower will be the tallest building on earth
Nakheel Harbour Tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is the brainchild of creatives at Woods Bagot Architects. It will be over a kilometer high edifice, the tallest building on earth. The project includes a harbor, a cultural podium and residential districts.
This enormous construction will involve green technologies like black water treatment, storm water harvesting, reuse of fire test water, solar panels and wind turbines trying to make it less expensive. The multibillion dollar real estate project will cover approximately 270 hectares.
The masterplan is based on Islamic principles of design and it will have more than 200 floors and about 150 elevators being able to provide shelter to more than 1500 inhabitants. Another 40 smaller towers, promenades, pedestrian bridges, easily-accessible public transportation will surround the big tower.
His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said ”There is nothing like it in Dubai”. This concentrated area will be focused on creating a true community, a location for living, working, relaxing and entertaining, for art and culture. Dubai will be unified due to this tower that is located in the center of Dubai – at the intersection of Sheikh Zayed Road and the Arabian Canal, Nakheel Harbour & Tower.
Dubai’s Nakheel Harbour Tower contends for the prestigious LEED Platinum Certification.
